The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has called on Nigerian youths to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and collaborate in addressing the nation’s challenges.

In a statement released on July 31, 2024, and made available to NATL TELESCOPE, Asaba, Delta State, the monarch emphasised the critical role of youth in nation-building and the importance of unity and constructive dialogue.

Ogiame Atuwatse III highlighted the vibrant and innovative energy of Nigerian youths, describing them as the engine room of the country.

He stressed the need for the youth to channel their energies towards creating a brighter future for Nigeria.

The monarch acknowledged the frustrations many Nigerians feel but urged the youth to engage in meaningful dialogue rather than protests, which can sometimes lead to unintended consequences.

“This is a good opportunity for everyone to unite behind our president and his government as they demonstrate sacrificial leadership,” the Olu stated.

He specifically appealed to the youth, emphasising their role as the driving force of the nation.

“To the great and powerful engine room of Nigeria, my faithful constituents, I encourage you to channel your energies into building a brighter future for our country.”

The Olu of Warri emphasised the need for a collective reassessment of Nigeria’s foundations and the structures that sustain it. He called for an approach devoid of ethnic or religious sentiments, advocating for peace and trust.

“Our nation Nigeria is a house that does not require demolition but rather a collective reassessment.

The energy we bring to this crucial moment in our history is vital, and we must get it right,” he stated.

He also remarked on the resilience of Nigerians, noting that the nation has overcome challenges that have caused other countries to falter.

“Nigerians are truly blessed and resilient. Several times in our history, it has been evident that other nations have stumbled at things Nigeria has miraculously been able to overcome.”

In closing, the Olu of Warri expressed optimism despite global economic challenges.

“While there is a global economic recession, we are a blessed people. We can symbolically dig wells during a famine season that will yield multiple folds in times of plenty, which will surely come,” he concluded.
