The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the theft of a vehicle believed to have been stolen from a residential compound in Obalende.

The incident occurred on February 20, 2025, when Mrs. Olarenwaju Adeyemi, a resident of the Mosumola Mebudu Compound, discovered her blue Nissan Primera with registration number LSD 290 BH missing from where it was parked.

Mrs. Adeyemi reported the theft, stating that she woke up to find her car missing from her compound, which raises concerns about the safety of residential areas in the state.

“Upon receiving the report, our detectives were promptly mobilized to the scene to gather evidence and initiate a search for the stolen vehicle,” said CSP Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun State. “We are determined to apprehend those responsible for this crime.”

In light of this theft, the police have urged residents to adopt extra security measures to protect their vehicles and valuables.

CSP Odutola advised residents to ensure that their vehicles are parked in well-lit and secure areas, saying,

“It is paramount that individuals take precautions to safeguard their properties.”

She also recommended the installation of anti-theft devices, such as steering locks, tracking systems, and alarms. “This can significantly reduce the chances of theft,” she added.

The Ogun State Police Command encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities around parked vehicles to the nearest police station.

“We rely on the community’s cooperation to enhance security in our neighborhoods,” Odutola emphasized.

The police are urging anyone with information that could assist in the recovery of the stolen vehicle to contact their local police division.

As the investigation continues, additional updates will be communicated to the public.
