NYSC DG seeks support for Trust FUND as 1457 Corps members deployed to Oyo

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Muhammad Fadah has enjoined stakeholders to support the establishment of the NYSC Trust Fund.

He said the Trust FUND which is currently at the legislation stage would address challenges of infrastructure and the provision of start-up capitals for corps members.

The DG said this during the swearing in ceremony of the 2022 Batch C Stream one Corps Members held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Iseyin, Oyo state on Tuesday.

Fadah, who was represented at the event by the Oyo State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Grace Ogbuogebe, also called for support for the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers in order to provide free healthcare services to rural communities.

He said, “May I also request all stakeholders to render support towards the success of our Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers, HIRD,which was aimed at providing easier access to free and qualitative healthcare especially for the rural poor”.

“You must distance yourselves from cultism, drug abuse and other social vices and also avoid spreading fake news, nor fuelling hatred and other negative purposes, instead deploy the same for the promotion of national unity and development”.

The high point of the ceremony was the administration of the oath of allegiance by the Chief Judge of Oyo state, Justice Murktar Abimbola who was ably represented at the occasion by Honourable Justice Iyabo Yerima.

A total of 1,457 corps members comprising 499 males and 958 females were deployed to Oyo state while 710 corps members were deployed from Lagos to Oyo state NYSC orientation camp for the three weeks orientation exercise.
