NUJ Mourns Senator Ubah, media stalwart’s Passing

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, chairman of Authority Newspapers and owner of Authority Media in Anambra State.

Senator Ubah, representing the Anambra South Senatorial Zone, died in the early hours of Saturday, July 27, 2024. 

In a statement issued by NUJ National President, Chris Isiguzo, MFR, the union praised Senator Ubah as a pivotal figure in Nigerian politics and the media industry. 

He was widely respected for his commitment to journalistic integrity and the empowerment of media professionals. 

Authority Newspapers and Authority Media, his media enterprises, were renowned for their dedication to truth, integrity, and fearless journalism. 

These platforms provided numerous journalists the opportunity to excel and make significant contributions to society.

The NUJ highlighted the profound impact of Senator Ubah’s death on the nation, noting that his leadership and vision in promoting a free and vibrant press are irreplaceable. 

His contributions to Nigerian journalism have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.

The union extended heartfelt condolences to the Ubah family, the staff of Authority Newspapers and Authority Media, and all those who had the privilege of working with him. 

During this period of mourning, the NUJ pledged to uphold the values and principles that Senator Ubah passionately championed.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire a just and informed society.
