NSCDC Commissions Mini-Barracks Donated by Obo-Ile Community to Bolster Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has commissioned a newly constructed mini-barracks in Obo-Ile, built and donated by the Obo-Ile community.

This facility, which has been named in honour of the Kwara State NSCDC Commandant, Dr. Umar JG Mohammed, aims to provide comfortable accommodation and a conducive environment for the officers stationed in the Obo-Ile Division.

The commissioning ceremony took place on Wednesday. The Commandant, Dr. Umar JG Mohammed expressed his gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Oba Rufus Olusegun Adebayo, the Owalobo of Obo-Ile, Akamekun 1, and the entire Obo-Ile community for their remarkable generosity and unwavering support.

He noted that the mini-barracks would be put to optimal use to strengthen the security framework within the area, ensuring that the community remains safe and well-protected.

Dr. Mohammed acknowledged the strategic importance of having a well-equipped and adequately housed security force, especially in regions that may face various security challenges.

He assured the community that the NSCDC officers stationed in the Obo-Ile Division would be better positioned to perform their duties effectively, thanks to the new facility.

He also noted that the gesture from the Obo-Ile community exemplifies a strong partnership between the community and the security forces, which is essential for maintaining peace and order.

In his remarks during the event, Oba Rufus Olusegun Adebayo praised Commandant Mohammed for his unwavering commitment to enhancing the security of the Obo-Ile community.

The Owalobo reaffirmed the community’s commitment to continue its support for the NSCDC, acknowledging that their efforts have significantly contributed to the peace and security enjoyed by residents of Obo-Ile.

Oba Adebayo further highlighted the importance of collaboration between communities and security agencies, noting that such partnerships are vital for the overall safety and development of the region.

He also urged other communities to emulate the example set by Obo-Ile in supporting security initiatives that benefit the larger society.
