The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has announced a groundbreaking profit of N3.3 trillion for the 2023 financial year, setting a new record for the national oil company.
This achievement marks the highest profit ever declared by NNPC since its establishment.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, NNPC’s Chief Financial Officer, Alhaji Umar Ajiya, reiterated the significance of this financial milestone.
He noted that the 2023 profit exceeded the previous year’s earnings by over N1 trillion.
In 2022, NNPC had reported a profit of N2.548 trillion, which was then considered a substantial accomplishment.
In addition to its impressive profit, NNPC also declared a dividend of N2.101 trillion for the 2023 financial year.
This further underscores the company’s robust financial performance and its commitment to delivering substantial value to its stakeholders.
The announcement reflects NNPC’s growing financial strength and its strategic efforts to optimise operations, improve efficiency, and capitalise on favourable market conditions.
