The coronation of the new Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, will take place next Friday, July 12.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the event will be preceded by two major events.
On Wednesday, July 10, the new Olubadan palace, located on Oke-Aremo, will be commissioned by Governor Seyi Makinde.
The palace, which has been completed after a long delay, will serve as the official residence of the Olubadan and future occupants of the throne.
On Thursday, July 11, the maiden edition of the Egungun-Amala-Fuji Festival will hold at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The festival, organised by the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will showcase traditional masquerade performances, food, and fuji music, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
The coronation ceremony on Friday, July 12, will begin at the Labosinde compound, Ibadan, where the new Olubadan will receive traditional leaves and rites.
He will then proceed to Osemeji, where he will receive his crown. Finally, the coronation and presentation of the Staff of Office by Governor Seyi Makinde will take place at Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
