The Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Samuel Ogbuku, has been appointed as one of the Ambassadors for the University of Ibadan in celebration of its 75th anniversary.
The announcement was made following an investiture ceremony held in Port Harcourt, where he was honoured by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale.
During the event, Ogbuku expressed that this recognition highlights the positive impact of the NDDC on the Niger Delta communities.
He dedicated the honour to the Commission’s management and staff, crediting their support for his achievements.
Ogbuku reaffirmed his commitment to serving the region with integrity, emphasizing the NDDC’s contributions over the past 25 years, including the construction of hospitals, schools, roads, and the provision of scholarships.
Professor Adebowale praised Ogbuku for his humility and dedication, noting that his efforts align with the university’s mission.
He highlighted the significance of recognizing individuals who contribute meaningfully to community development.
The ceremony included presentations from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter O. Olapegba, and the University Registrar, Mr. Ganiyu Oke Saliu, who officially decorated Ogbuku.
The event was attended by NDDC management and staff, as well as members of the UI Alumni Association from Bayelsa State.
