By Bose Adelakun

The apex students body, National Association of Nigerian Students has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to reverse the increase of fees in Tertiary Institutions.

Despite the economic hardship, some Federal and State Institution had recently reviewed it’s fees upward.

However, NANS in a statement signed by its National President, Usman Barambu, pleaded to the President to “stand down school fees increment on all Tertiary Institutions till the economic situation improve.”

According to the group, reversal of the increase will further help to curtail impending increase in school dropout.

“This will go a long way in curtailing the number of school dropouts in the country, which is a serious threat to national security. This is our humble pleas on behalf of over 40 million Nigerian Students.”
