The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has expressed its support for some of its former student leaders who are now contesting in the state elections in Edo and Delta States.
According to the Deputy Senate President of NANS, Comrade Ekundina Segun Elvis, the candidates running for various positions in Edo and Delta have proven themselves as advocates for justice, equity, and inclusivity during their time as student leaders.
The endorsed candidates include Comrade Osaro Ogieva, running for councillorship in Ward 9 Oredo Local Government, Edo State; Comrade Kenneth Adodo, contesting for Chairman in Uhunwode Local Government, Edo State; and Comrade Joshua Agbaja, vying for Councillor in Ward 1, Unit 59, Uvwie Local Government Council, Delta State.
Elvis emphasized that NANS fully supports these young leaders and will mobilize its members and communities to vote for them.
The association believes that their election would lead to positive impacts, particularly in the revitalization of education in their respective states.
Recognizing the importance of student unionism as a training ground for future leaders, NANS is enthusiastic about endorsing these candidates, as they have shown dedication and cultivated valuable ideas during their time in student activism and community engagement.
