NAHCO Rewards Staff for Honesty After Returning $10,000 Found in Aircraft

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has honored Mr. Auwal Dankode, a cleaner who found and returned $10,000 while cleaning an aircraft in Kano.

In a statement released on Saturday, NAHCO revealed that Dankode, a Kano native, was celebrated at the company’s headquarters at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for his integrity and transparency.

Dankode discovered the money, left behind by a passenger in seat No. 25H, while cleaning an Egypt Air flight at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport last Wednesday.

He promptly handed the cash over to the airline’s Station Manager.

NAHCO’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Indranil Gupta, praised Dankode for exemplifying the company’s values.

“We are truly proud of the exemplary character displayed by Auwal,”

Gupta said. “He embodies the core values of NAHCO: honesty, integrity, diligence, and hard work.”

Gupta added, “We celebrate your actions and hope this is just the beginning.

Let the values instilled by your family guide you towards becoming a leader everyone will be proud of.”

The CEO highlighted that the integrity shown by Dankode reflects the high standards upheld by many NAHCO employees.

Chief Financial Officer Mr. Adeoye Emiloju also commended Dankode, noting, “The integrity you have displayed is genuine and not something anyone can merely pretend to have.”

COO Mr. Didier Steullet encouraged Dankode to maintain his good character.

“What you have done is exemplary. Please remain grounded and continue making a positive impact,” Steullet advised.

Group Executive Director Dr. Sola Obabori added, “You have become a global representative of NAHCO’s values.

In today’s Nigeria, where the value of a dollar is high, your action is particularly commendable. You have shown true purity of heart.”

As NAHCO’s new Brand Ambassador, Dankode will participate in major company events across Nigeria, promote the brand, and have opportunities to engage with top officials and stakeholders.
