My most desired role under Buhari’s administration – Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said he derived his greatest joy under the Buhari’s administration while serving as the Chairman of the National Economic Council.

In a statement on his facebook handle, he said, “One of my greatest joys in this administration is the privilege of serving as the chairman of the National Economic Council comprising all the 36 state governors and some members of the federal cabinet. Together, we faced seemingly insurmountable challenges and overcame them for the benefit of Nigeria and its citizens.

“As our administration begins to wind down in anticipation of the next government, we held a valedictory meeting of the Council earlier today. During the meeting, I was treated to special honour when the members of the council sang and showered me with kind words, for which I am very grateful. I consider it a rare honour and privilege to be able to serve my country, which I love very dearly, with other patriotic citizens.

“I also presented a Legacy Document of the NEC, which is a summary of all the activities of the Council from 2015 to 2023, to the council. On fuel subsidy removal, we received a briefing from the Finance Minister that the policy will not come into effect during the transition period, and when the time comes, it will be done in an orderly and well-considered way.”
