My Govt Taking Tough Decisions for Nigeria’s Progress, says Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is committed to making tough decisions necessary for advancing the country’s development.

Speaking to members of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization in China (NIDO China) and the Nigerian community at the China World Hotel in Beijing, President Tinubu stressed the importance of bold and unprecedented decisions to drive progress.

Concluding his official visit to China, President Tinubu described his interactions with the Nigerian community as “very good and successful.”

He highlighted his efforts to strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as infrastructure, trade, finance, energy, green economy, and mining during his meetings with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and at the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit.

Addressing recent fuel price adjustments, President Tinubu underscored that such measures are vital for achieving meaningful development.

He drew comparisons with China’s development achievements, including its excellent roads, reliable electricity and water supply, and quality schools.

In a statement from his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu urged Nigerians to appreciate the role of tough decisions in shaping a better future.

He encouraged the diaspora community to positively impact attitudes back home and cautioned against expecting everything for free, which could hinder progress.

“I urge you to represent Nigeria with pride and to be exemplary ambassadors of our nation in China,” the President said.

He also emphasized the need for discipline and dedication, citing China’s disciplined society as a model for Nigerians.

“We must embrace our diversity and adhere to the laws of the communities we live in, reflecting a positive image of our country,” he stated.

President Tinubu reassured Nigerians in the diaspora that Nigeria’s Bank of Industry is ready to collaborate with them to tap into opportunities back home.

“Nigeria is undergoing significant reforms, and we are making bold decisions.

For instance, recent changes in fuel prices are part of our efforts to build a better nation,” he explained.

He encouraged the diaspora to leverage their experiences and contributions to foster positive changes in Nigeria, emphasizing that demanding free benefits could lead to delayed progress.
