Mixed reactions as Lagos Gov. Set to introduce technology to Primary Schools

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwolu has said his administration will be introducing technology in primary schools in order to improve the learning experience of pupils.

The governor, who took to his instagram page on Thursday 27th Feb, 2020 also said he has commenced efforts for structural refurbishment of state owned institutions.

While reiterating his commitment towards quality education in the state, he stated that the administration will ensure periodic training of teachers in order to improve their productivity in the state. 

“Quality Education is a prerequisite for learning and human development; it is also a gateway to accomplishment, as it opens up the world of opportunities to children whilst helping them develop their full potential. 

“As part of our educational reforms, we are introducing technology to improve the learning experience in our primary schools whilst efforts have commenced to achieve a full structural refurbishment of most of our state-owned Schools.

“We will ensure periodic training of our teachers and motivate them with benefit schemes to enhance their productivity and job satisfaction. 

 “This is another initiative we are embarking on as a state that supports one of the Global Sustainable Development Goals. Goal No. 4 “Quality Education” He added. 

Meanwhile diverse opinion has continued to trail the plans and activities of the governor in the state. 

While some handlers who commented on the governors post are of the opinion that he should concentrate on school infrastructures, others are concerned with the transportation issues in the state. 

One of them simply identified as Imacvisuals_pro and a cinematographer by profession said “it’s not all about showing pictures and going to schools, the facilities in those schools are too poor the pupils lack good environment and well trained teachers. A well trained child will become a good leader in the future, but if failed to be trained properly they will end up being bad heads.”

Also another handler identified as Wykhay “I am very sure you know those children trek distances before they get to school”.   

For ‘Kingnubia1st’  “Sir ever since you’ve been travelling abroad, is this how government schools looks like? No!! You really need to do something and make our school look standard!!!”.”

For Zionrealtorsx “This children  should ask him why he banned the only source of income to some of their parents?”

In her own part, Oyefoso Okunuga  urge the governor to pay unscheduled visit.  “Please sir, those schools visited, can see that your visit was expected, try and do unexpected ones sir”
