Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has been condoling with messages from prominent figures, including the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, and the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, following the passing of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
Oba Alao described Engr. Makinde’s death as a “shocking and significant loss” in a condolence message.
He prayed for God’s comfort and strength for the governor and his family, urging them to take solace in the fulfilling life the late engineer lived.
The monarch also acknowledged the deceased’s positive contributions to his family and community.
Commissioner Ojo expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the late engineer as a man of integrity, humility, and kindness.
“Chief Sunday Makinde was a man of integrity and a pillar of support to the Makinde family.
His legacy of humility, kindness, and dedication to the growth of Aigbofa family and Ibadanland will not be forgotten,” Ojo stated.
Engr. Makinde, a respected community leader and devoted Christian, was known for his philanthropic efforts and commitment to unity and progress in Ibadan land.
The Oyo State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters has urged the Makinde family to draw comfort from the impactful and fulfilled life he lived, and called on the people of Oyo State to support the governor and his family with prayers and words of encouragement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Your Excellency.
May God grant you the fortitude to bear this loss.”
