LG poll: Oyo South Senator donates N13m to APC

The Senator representing Oyo South,Sen. Sharafadeen Alli, has magnanimously donated N13 million to bolster the campaign efforts of the Oyo All Progressive Congress (APC) and its candidates in preparation for the forthcoming local government elections slated for April 27.

Expressing his commitment to advancing the party’s agenda, Senator Alli emphasized the importance of unity and progress within the APC fold. According to a statement released by his media adviser, Akeem Abass, Senator Alli’s contribution underscores his unwavering dedication to promoting grassroots democracy and ensuring effective representation.

The substantial donation was strategically allocated, with N300,000 earmarked for each of the nine local government chairmanship candidates in Oyo South, while N50,000 was allocated to each of the 99 councillors. This gesture not only reinforces Senator Alli’s belief in grassroots democracy but also serves as a tangible manifestation of his support for the party’s candidates.

In addition to his financial contribution, Senator Alli offered valuable counsel to the aspiring candidates, stressing the importance of unity, dedication, and adherence to the party’s core values and objectives. Hon. Kehinde Subair, a former Majority Leader in the House of Assembly, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the pivotal role of unity, purpose-driven leadership, and effective communication in political campaigns.
