LASU to graduate 8,959 Students as Emir Sanusi to Chair Convocation Lecture

The deposed Emir of Kano, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, is expected to preside at the March 26 convocation lecture of the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.

The lecture, entitled; “The Future of Developing Economies in a Digital World,” is part of activities lined up to mark the institution’s 24th convocation ceremony.

The lecture will be delivered by the president of African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Benedict Oramah.

This was according to the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun on Friday.

The Vice Chan who emphasised that the choice predated the removal of Sanusi as emir noted that his removal had not, in anyway, reduced Sanusi’s intellectual richness.

He stated that a total of 8,959 will be awarded certificates in various degrees and diplomas during the convocation.

Also as part of the convocation, the university will confer honourary doctoral degrees on six eminent Nigerians, including Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Mrs.Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire; and the chairman of Honeywell Flour, Oba Otudeko.

Others are Opeyemi Oke, Aderemi Makanjuola and Segun Agbaje.
