Lagos Shuts Church, Others Over Environmental Offenses

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed multiple establishments in the Lekki Phase I area for violating environmental regulations.

Among those affected are Kingfisher, Red Lagos, Logic Church, and Bolivar, which were shut down for non-compliance despite previous warnings.

Lagos State Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the action on Friday via X.com (formerly Twitter).

He noted that LASEPA’s enforcement reflects the state’s commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and sustainable environment.

Wahab emphasized that the closures are part of ongoing efforts to enforce environmental laws and address noise pollution in Lagos.

Earlier in August, the state government also sealed Landcraft Industries Nigeria and Word of Light Christ Ministry (Camp of Light) for similar noise and environmental violations.
