Lagos Lecturer on Trial for Alleged Rape of Student

A part-time lecturer at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Kolawole Muyiwa, has appeared before the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, facing charges of raping a student.

The alleged incident occurred on October 11, 2021, when the victim, then 1, offered to help him record scores in his office.

The Lagos State Government initially arraigned Muyiwa on February 6, 2023, to which he pleaded not guilty.

During the trial, Muyiwa claimed he had asked the victim for a relationship, which she accepted, and emphasized that they had only met twice before the allegation surfaced.

Justice Ramon Oshodi has adjourned the case until January 13, 2025, as proceedings continue.
