Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom Get New Police Commissioners

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the appointment of new Commissioners of Police for Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom States.

This move follows recent promotions within the police force, which created vacancies in these states.

In a statement released on Friday by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations for the PSC, the new commissioners were named.

Isah Nda will head the Abia State Command, Olanrewaju Olawale will take charge of the Lagos State Command, Anthonia Anya is appointed for the Ebonyi State Command, and Miller Dantawaye will lead the Akwa Ibom State Command.

Notably, there is no new appointment for the Federal Capital Territory Command, as the former CP has been promoted to Assistant Inspector General (AIG) for Zone 7.

DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.), Chairman of the PSC, emphasized that the new commissioners are expected to make a significant impact on the security management in their respective states.

He urged them to act swiftly and efficiently, building a strong and competent police force.

The appointments, approved and signed by Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission, have been forwarded to the Inspector General of Police for implementation.
