Following the approval of 4,500 teaching and non-teaching staff to be employed into the state teaching service, the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has said it will be deploring larger part of the figure to rural communities.
The immediate past chairman of the board, Alhaji Ladi Hassan, who made the disclosure while handing over to the Acting Chairman, Alhaji Wahab Bolakale Abayawo, stated that the decision to deploy more teachers to rural communities will further boost the quality of education in the state.
He said that the era where teachers will abandon their posting to rural communities is over, adding that special incentives have been slated to encourage those posted to remote areas.
Hassan, who disclosed that his time at SUBEB has been challenging stated that the management team under his leadership had succeeded in instilling discipline in the service.
According to him, the staffs are now being punctual in office while also maintaining high sense of discipline.
Speaking with newsmen, the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Hajia Omowumi Yusuf said, “Alhaji Ladi Hassan’s departure will create a big vacuum as he is a father, an administrator and a leader. However, we are happy for him because he is moving higher and we wish him all the best in the new office.”
Also, the Permanent Member II of SUBEB, Dr. Ahmed Adebayo described Alhaji Hassan as a disciplinarian and one with a clear mind.

Similarly, the Permanent Member III Alhaji Shuaib Baba Jimoh, said, “My experience with him in the last 13 months has overtaken all the experience I have gathered throughout my years of service. We thank God for his person and we wish him the best in higher service.”
Meanwhile, the Acting Chairman, Alhaji Bolakale, who applauded his predecessor called for concerted efforts from staff while also assuring of making their welfare a priority.
