Kwara State Government has resumed work on the Ilesha – Gwanara road in Baruten Local Government Area of the state.

The 34 km road project which was contracted to Duravil Engineering Limited was suspended earlier this year due to torrential downpour.
It would be recalled that the project had suffered a series of setbacks in recent years, having been abandoned by the contractor.
The Kwara State Government under the leadership of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on assumption of office captured the project for timely completion.
Meanwhile, the state government has called for speedy completion of the project for the commuters to have good transit experience.
However, the project is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2022 in line with Governor Abdulrazaq’s commitment to infrastructural upgrade of the state.
According to a statement from Kwara State Ministry of Works and Transport, “Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has through unwavering commitment completed projects initiated by ex-Governor Mohammed Alabi Lawal that were abandoned by succeeding administrations in the state. He also has to his credit resuscitation of similar projects that were abandoned by the previous administrations for the greater good of Kwarans.”
