KWASU VC makes case on CSR by varsities

The Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU) in Malete, Prof Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, has canvassed better Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from Nigerian universities to boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Na’Allah, at a press briefing yesterday said universities the world over have responsibilities to their host communities and Nigeria could not be an exception.

He said KWASU had since its existence nine years ago contributed immensely to the development of Malete, as no graduate of the institution could finish his or her course without a CSR project to the community.

Speaking in Malete at an event ahead of the sixth convocation ceremony of the institution today, Na’Allah said: “Our other name at KWASU is CSR. Our students are doing it too.”
