KWASU Expels 175 Students for Misconduct

Kwara State University, Malete, has expelled 175 students for various forms of misconduct.

This decision was made based on recommendations from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee, which conducted hearings from October 2021 to March 2024.

In a statement issued by Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, Acting Director of University Relations, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara, on Monday, the university outlined the offenses committed by the expelled students.

These include examination malpractices, theft, admission through fake results, assault, fraud, membership in unregistered associations, and possession of firearms.

“The university management has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring that its graduates are not only academically sound but also of good character,” the statement said.

Dr. Aliyu emphasised the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline, highlighting the university’s dedication to upholding high standards of behaviour and academic integrity.
