KwaraPoly has largest number of Kwara Students nationwide – NAKSS

The National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) has said Kwara State Polytechnic has the largest number of its members compared to other institution nationwide.

The Acting National President of the Association Comrade Kamal Ashola who made the disclosure during a visit to the Rector of the Institution in Ilorin today (Wednesday) stated that statistic as of the last convocation revealed that 17,000 Kwarans graduated from the Institution.

This, Ashola said, prompted the leadership of the Association to consider the school as the first to be intimated on the plans of the upcoming programme ‘Harmony Variety Week 2017’ and the need for the Institution to increase its welfarism and security measures.

He explained that the programme will provide the platform for stakeholders to discuss on the education development and peaceful coexistence in Campuses across the country.

In his address, the Rector of the Institution, Alhaji Mas’ud Elelu charged the Association to be an Ambassador of Peace and tranquility anywhere they may find themselves.

While reiterating commitment towards the welfare of Students in the Campus, Elelu said since his assumption of office, 48 projects has been carried out to provide conducive learning environment.

He however disclosed that other projects such as Park Construction and Renovation of the Hostel through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) will commence soon.

While enjoining the students to shun all social vices, the Rector pleadge his support to the Association.
