Kwara NUJ Poll: Aspirants urged to shun defamatory Campaign

Candidates participating in the forthcoming Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kwara State have been charged to demonstrate spirit of sportmanship before, during and after the election

Chairman, Nigeria Association of Veteran Journalists, NAVEJ in Kwara State, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi gave the charge today while speaking at the Campaign of Abdul-lateef Ahmed for State NUJ Chairmanship at Correspondents Chapel, Murtala, Ilorin

Alhaji Akanbi implored the contestants to shun campaign of calumny and make their campaign issued to attract votes from NUJ members in the state.

In his opening speech, the Campaign Director General for Abdulateef Lanre Ahmed of The Herald Newspaper, Prince Oluwagbemiga Ishola urged Journalists in Kwara NUJ to vote massively for Abdulateef Lanre Ahmed, adding that a vote for the Abdulateef is a vote for transparency, accountability honesty and all inclusiveness.

According to Prince Ishola, Abdulateef is just a face in the assignment, as the project is a divine one aimed at addressing the challenges in the Kwara State NUJ council.

In his remark, NUJ Chairmanship Candidate in the state, Abdul-lateef Ahmed promised to give all members of the union a sense of belonging irrespective of religion or tribal affiliation

Mr Ahmed solicited votes of Correspondents Chapel towards repositioning the state NUJ

Responding, Chairman, Correspondents Chapel of NUJ, Alhaji Abdul-Akeem Garba assured the NUJ Chairmanship Candidate of support during the elections to enable him emerge victorious
