A leading chairmanship candidate of the Nigeria Union of Journalists July 10th election in Kwara state, Mr. Ahmed Lanre Abdullateef has vowed to unify all members of the Union across the chapels of the council to build a better and united union.
While leading his campaign team to the Kwara Television Authority chapel of the Union, Mr. Abdul-lateef Ahmed assured members that if given their mandates, the Press centre would be made as an avenue for convergence of Journalists to share knowledge, fraternize and solidify the unity of all members.
Mr Ahmed itemized inclusion, welfare of members and financial discipline and transparency in the running of the Union affairs as part of his key areas of focus to redeem the image of the union
He solicited votes from members of the union in Kwara State Television Chapel to change the narrative of the union
Responding, Vice Chairman, NUJ Kwara State Television Authority Chapel, Muslimah Abubakar assured the campaign team of unflinching support towards the emergence of Abdul-lateef Ahmed
Also Speaking, National Treasurer, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Fatima Rasheed charged the Chairmanship Candidate, Abdul-lateef Ahmed to accommodate every member when elected, describing him as a well known and experienced journalist that could be trusted.
A one time chairmanship candidate of the Union, Alhaji Abdullahi Adisa-Akodudu said Abdul-lateef Ahmed has necessary wherewithal to pilot the affairs of State Council of NUJ to greater height
In his remark, Director General Abdul-lateef Ahmed Campaign Council, Gbenga Ishola described Abdul-lateef Ahmed as a marketable and sellable candidate capable of effecting desired change in the state Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists
