Kwara Governor Warns Students Against Drug Abuse, Cultism

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has urged students to shun drug abuse, cultism, and other harmful activities that can ruin their future.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ dialogue in Ilorin, the Governor emphasized the importance of making the right choices and avoiding actions that can lead to regrets, stigmatization, and premature death.

He encouraged students to appreciate their parents’ investments in their education and to make them proud by avoiding harmful associations and activities.

The event featured panel discussions with experts emphasizing good parenting, value reorientation, and collaboration to tackle social vices.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, advised youths to avoid desperation and hasty decisions, while a university don, Prof Mary Fajonyomi, stressed the importance of proper parenting and guidance. The Minister of Youth Development, represented by Prince Momoh Olugbenga, commended the state government’s commitment to youth development and engagement.
