Kwara Gov signs 2022 Budget of N189.6 Billion into Law

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has signed the 2022 Budget of N189,617,487,624 billion into Law.

According to the governor in a social media post, “56% of the budget will go into capital expenditure and 44 % is set aside for recurrent expenditure.”

He wrote, “Today, we signed the 2022 budget. The total size of the budget is N189,617,487,624 and it reflects our commitment to the infrastructural development of Kwara
and welfare of workers. 56% of the budget will go into
capital expenditure and 44 % is set aside for recurrent
expenditure.

“Some of the highlights of the budget included the
implementation of the consequential adjustment of minimum wage and paying some salary arrears that could not be paid by the previous administration. We are equally doing cash backing of promotions.

“Those are some of the
major challenges facing our administration.

“We will also focus on completing ongoing infrastructural projects, job creation and expanding the economic base of the state. We will try to ensure full implementation of the
budget as much as revenue permits.

“I must commend the House for doing the needful to ensure that the budget is passed on time. We appreciate the work they have done.”

Present at the signing of the budget were: the Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly, Salihu Yakubu-Danladi, his deputy Raphael Adetiba as well as some members executive council of the Kwara State Government.
