Kwara: Fulani Herdmen allegedly cut Farmers hand with Matchet

An unidentified Fulani herdsman has allegedly cut the hand of one Mr. Saheed Zakariyau of Bindofu area of Lafiagi, in Edu local government area of Kwara State.

According to the report, the farmer who went to his farm at the early hours of Saturday, June 12, 2021, met some cows grazing on his rice farm, while trying to pursue the cow, the Fulani man drew his marchet and smatched it on him.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) kwara command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi said: “on Saturday 12th June 2021 at about 1300hrs One Mr Saheed Zakariyau with his colleagues of Bindofu area Lafiagi, came to NSCDC Office Lafiagi Division that they went to their farm at about 0930hrs on getting there, they met a Large herd of cattle and some fulani herdsmen grazing their rice farm,as they were trying to pursue fulani herdsmen and their cattle. In the process one fulani remove his cuttlass and machete his right hand and the fulani ran away”

He, however assures that investigation is ongoing to apprehend the suspects.
