Kwara, Emir mourn as dep gov loses mother

The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, has lost his mother, Mrs. Ena Maud Alabi nee Aljoe.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Modupe Joel, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin Kwara State.

“Mrs Ena Alabi died in Ilorin this morning at the age of 98. A retired senior matron, a mentor to nurses, and a woman who gave her all to serving God and humanity.

Rest on mama in the bosom of your Lord.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq joins the family of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi, to mourn the glorious exit of his mother, Mama Ena Maud Alabi (née Aljoe).

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin Kwara State.

“A Jamaican by birth and Nigerian by citizenship and marriage, the matriarch of the Alabi family went home in the early hours of Friday, April 5, 2024, at the age of 98.

She retired as a senior matron at Maternity (Amilegbe) Ilorin in 1980, ending decades of impactful professional service to God and humanity as a health worker and caregiver.

The Governor says Mama Ena was a humanist per excellence who served God and her community with her talents and rich network.

On behalf of the AbdulRazaqs, the government, and the people of Kwara State, the Governor sends his heartfelt condolences to the Deputy Governor and his siblings on this huge loss of a faithful mother.

He asks God to repose her soul and help the family stay strong and united through the mourning period and after.”

Also, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR), has commiserated with the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi, over the loss of his mother, Madam Ena Alabi.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari described the incidence as painful but urged Mr. Alabi and his siblings to find solace in the fact that ‘Mama’ lived an extraordinary life worthy of praise, emulation, and commendations.

The Emir’s condolence message was contained in a statement issued on Friday by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, stressing that the late Madam Ena Alabi was an embodiment of peace and motherhood. “

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, on behalf of the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, assured the Deputy Governor that their hearts and prayers are with his families at this auspicious moment of grief.

He prayed to God to repose the soul of the late Madam Ena Alabi and comfort all the family members that she left behind.
