Kwara begins N10,000 bursary payment to students

Kwara State Government,under the leadership of the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has begun the disbursement of 10,000 Naira bursary grants to final-year students in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

This was only meant for the indigenes of the 16 local government areas of the state, and it will be paid directly into their various accounts for transparency and accountability. 

The payment has started since March 27, 2024, to applicants who successfully applied through the approved portal by the government, and will continue until they’re through with the disbursement.

This was made known in a statement by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mansurat Amuda-Kannike.

Amuda further explains that a few successful applicants whose account details are not correct will be contacted.

“The awardees were drawn from across the 16 local government areas of the state and various tertiary institutions in the country.

“We have started paying the bursary award of N10,000 to each of the successful applicants that have been graciously approved by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

“The payment began on Wednesday, March 27 and will continue until we finish the disbursement. We are paying directly to their accounts for transparency and accountability.

“There are a few of these successful applicants whose account details are not correct. We will contact them.” 

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Arinde,also said that bursary allowances are for Kwara students and indigenes who have registered on the approved portal by the government.
