Kwara Assembly Passes ₦509.89Bn Supplementary Budget for Infrastructure Devt

The Kwara State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of ₦509.89 billion, marking a significant increase of ₦217.14 billion from the originally proposed budget of ₦292.74 billion. 

This decision was finalised during today’s plenary session, where the Committee of Supply reviewed and gave the green light to the revised budget.

Ariola Fatima Lawal, the Chairperson of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation and representative of the Ilorin East Constituency, provided an overview of the revised budget. 

She explained that the additional funds would be channeled into capital projects across Kwara State, covering both ongoing and new infrastructural developments. 

Lawal stressed the importance of this budget in advancing the state’s development and urged her fellow lawmakers to lend their support.

The House responded positively, with a majority of legislators backing the revised budget during a voice vote. 

Following the vote, Speaker Engineer Yakubu Danlad-Salihu officially announced the passage of the supplementary budget, underscoring its significance for the state’s progress.
