Kingship: Tinubu’s ADC Will Resume New Role After Retirement from Military, Says Presidency

The Presidency has confirmed the appointment of President Bola Tinubu’s Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Lt Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, as the new Elemona of Ilemona land in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

This appointment follows the passing of his father, the late Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, the former Elemona, in May.

The kingmakers and the people of Ilemona have chosen Lt Col. Yusuf as their new traditional ruler, recognising his acts of kindness and humanitarian efforts within the community over the past few years.

A statement from the Presidency noted that Lt Col. Yusuf, being the heir apparent, has accepted the decision of his people to ascend the throne, having received the necessary authorisation in line with the traditions, customs, and ethics of the Nigerian Army.

However, the Presidency has stated that the President aide would appoint regent to the throne until he retire from the military.

“Upon his installation, His Royal Highness, Oba Nurudeen Alowonle Yusuf, Fiwadade Ilufemiloye Oyekanmi II, the Elemona of Ilemona land, will appoint regents to the throne until his retirement from military service, as stated by the Presidency on Friday.”
