The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu has described kidnappers terrorizing the country as cowards, saying they deserve capital punishment when captured.
She called on the state governors and lawmakers to take charge of the situation and issue deserving punishment to any kidnapper who is caught.
She stated this while reacting to the kidnap of over 280 pupils and teachers of Government Secondary School and LEA primary school at Kuriga, Kaduna State.
The victims were abducted by bandits on Thursday.
Speaking on the matter, the first lady said, “Whoever is kidnapping young people, is a sin, cruel, and cowardly. Enough is enough and I call on the state governors that once we take hold of them, they deserve capital punishment.
“Why don’t they take on people their size? Why are they torturing our children? What they are doing is trying to kill our future. We all know as parents, when we are old we rely on them, especially when they are successful.
“Why would you go and take them from school? I don’t know but right now I think enough is enough. As a former lawmaker, I believe that any of them captured, deserve capital punishment.
“I say and I believe most mothers will believe that. They are animals, they are evil and we should take them out of our midst. The state governors should do something and the lawmakers, especially the lawmakers of each state.”
