Kidnapped wife of slain Kwara monarch, others regains freedom

The wife of the slain Olukoro of Koro Ekiti in Kwara State, General Segun Aremu-Cole (retd), and two others who were kidnapped have reportedly regained their freedom.

It will be recalled that the kidnappers abducted the woman and two unidentified people and killed the monarch on February 1, 2024.

The abductors thereafter demanded a N100 million ransom for their release but later reduced to N40 million.

It was however gathered that the abducted victims were released on Monday night.

Details on how much ransome was eventually paid to the kidnappers was still scketchy as at the time of filing this report.

The Asiwaju of Koro, Chief Samuel Ayobola confirmed their release to National Pilot

He said, “The news just received from home confirms that Olori and the girl have been released and have returned to Koro about 30 minutes ago.”
