Kano Gov begins demolition of buildings on govt lands

Abba Kabir Yusuf, the newly inaugurated Governor of Kanu State has commenced the demolition of buildings on public lands.

This is coming barely few days after he was sworn in as the governor of the State.

Recalled that Yusuf shortly after being declared governor-elect, threatened to demolish buildings in the state on public properties.

At the early hour of Saturday, the first building, a 3-storey building with 90 shops on a race course by Filing Sukuwa, Nasarawa GRA, was brought down around 2.00am.

The governor, who led the removal of the building accompanied by the State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Gumel, said the buildings are illegally constructed.

The governor, on Friday, also directed the developer carrying out construction works at the Hajj Camp to stop ongoing construction.
