The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 35 suspected phone snatchers in a series of targeted raids aimed at curbing the rising crime rate in the metropolis.
The operation was led by the Command’s Anti-Vice Section following a surge in phone snatching incidents.
Among those apprehended were 33 males and two females. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, the raids took place between 7:00 pm and 11:45 pm across identified crime hotspots in Kaduna.
ASP Hassan said, “The operation was in line with the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Ali Dabigi. During the raids, dangerous weapons, Indian hemp, and other illicit drugs were recovered from the suspects.”
He further noted that all those arrested have been charged to court after preliminary investigations. CP Dabigi assured the public that the command remains committed to tackling criminal activities and ensuring the safety of residents.
