Kaduna State has been plunged into mourning with the announcement of the death of Hon. Ekene Adams.
Described as a dedicated member of the House of Representatives representing the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Adams died on Tuesday.
His untimely demise has left a significant void in the hearts of his constituents and colleagues alike.
Governor of Kaduna state, Uba Sani expressed his deep sorrow upon receiving the news of Hon. Ekene’s passing.
“It is with a deep sense of loss but total submission to the will of Almighty God that I received the news of the passing away of one of our legislators, Hon. Ekene Adams,” the governor stated.
Hon. Ekene was recognised for his dedication and unwavering commitment to serving his constituency, often putting the needs of his people above his own.
The governor acknowledged the timing of Hon. Ekene’s departure as particularly poignant, noting that his services were most needed during this period.
“Hon. Ekene left us at a time when his services were most needed. But we are consoled by the fact that he left a legacy of selfless service, humility, and compassion,” Governor Sani remarked.
“This legacy, he emphasised, “would continue to inspire and guide future leaders and community members in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency and beyond”.
In his condolence message, Governor Sani extended heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State to the Ekene family, the entire Chikun/Kajuru communities, and the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives.
“On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ekene Family, the entire Chikun/Kajuru Communities, and the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives,” he said.
Governor Sani also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Hon. Ekene’s soul, expressing hope that his family would find the strength to endure this significant loss.
“We pray fervently for the repose of the gentle soul of Hon. Ekene. May the good Lord grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he concluded.
Hon. Ekene Adams was known for his selflessness and dedication to improving the lives of his constituents.
His initiatives in education, healthcare, and infrastructure development had a profound impact on the Chikun/Kajuru communities as well as his efforts in advocating for the rights and welfare of his people earned him widespread respect and admiration.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, alongside other members, have also expressed their condolences and shared memories of Hon. Ekene’s contributions to legislative processes and community development.
His colleagues remembered him as a man of principle, a dedicated public servant, and a compassionate leader.
The LP lawmaker is the third member of the Reps to die this year. His death came about a week after another member of the House of Representatives Olaide Akinremi died.
The funeral arrangements for Hon. Ekene Adams will be announced in the coming days, with various dignitaries expected to pay their respects.
