The governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El Rufai, disclosed yesterday that the state government has received 48,806 applications from prospective teachers in public schools in the state to fill up 25,000 vacancies.

According to the governor, the issue of sanitizing public schools in the state is very crucial and requires courage, honesty and sincerity.
He called on members of the National Assembly from the state to help save future generations from servitude by ensuring that quality public education was offered in the state. Governor El-Rufai explained that all shortlisted applicants from the 43,806 that applied would be subjected to oral and practical examinations, to be followed by interview and final verification to ascertain the authenticity of their qualifications.
He said those who scaled through the screening would undergo training on teaching before their deployment to classrooms to teach.
“The issue of ensuring quality and competent teachers in public schools is something crucial and doable, but it requires courage, sincerity and honesty as guiding principles,”
