Just In: Next Olubadan to be announced on Monday – Oyo Governor

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has said the next Olubadan of Ibadan land will be announced to the public on Monday.

The Governor who made the disclosure in a post on his social media handle at the weekend, expressed satisfaction that the issues surrounding the selection of the next Olubadan among stakeholders in the State have been resolved.

According to him, while speaking during the burial rites ceremony of Late Oba Sáliù Åkànmú Olásüpò Adétúnjí, held in Ibadan on Saturday, he stated that the late Kabiyesi lived a good life and left a worthy legacy.

“Today, we held the final burial rites for our royal father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Sáliù Åkànmú Olásüpò Adétúnjí, Ajé Ogúngúnnísò 1, Olúbàdàn of lbàdàn. Kabiyesi lived a good life
and left a worthy legacy and so we are glad we have been able to pay our last respects.

“I stated that I was happy that the issues surrounding the succession to the Olubadan stool have been resolved.

The system was never broken and did not need to be fixed. I said by God’s grace, I would make the official announcement of the new Olubadan of lbadanland on Monday.” The Governor wrote.
