The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the arrest of Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner for Special Duties, for allegedly engaging in an affair with a married woman, Tasleem Baba Nabegu.
Sankara was apprehended in an uncompleted building, which reportedly belongs to him, following intelligence reports and complaints from the woman’s husband’s younger brother.
Hisbah Director General, Abba Sufi, stated, “We tracked him based on numerous reports of his illicit activities.”
Sankara’s arrest stems from a complaint filed by Nasiru Bulama, who accused him of having an affair with his wife, Tasleem, the mother of two.
Bulama reported the matter to the Kano State Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Hisbah Board.
In addition to the affair, the Hisbah DG revealed that Sankara is facing multiple charges, including operating illicit drug centers disguised as hotels in various locations, which have been linked to prostitution and drug addiction.
Sankara is scheduled to be prosecuted on Monday in a court of law.
