The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a last-minute postponement of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration, which was initially scheduled to commence today, January 31.
According to JAMB spokesman, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the registration will now begin on Monday, February 3.
This decision was made to allow the Board to implement essential adjustments to its registration templates, ensuring a smooth registration process.
Dr Benjamin explained that the adjustments are necessary due to the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as submitted by the Council for Legal Education.
Additionally, some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres were found to have used deceptive facilities to gain approval, prompting further scrutiny and corrections.
“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience,” Dr Benjamin stated.
Prospective candidates are advised to take note of the new registration date and make necessary preparations. The registration period is expected to run until March 5, 2025.
