JAMB Not Involved In HND Graduates’ NYSC Mobilisation – Oloyede

The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has said that the board has no involvement in the mobilization of polytechnic graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

While addressing representatives of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), Oloyede explained that JAMB’s mandate is limited to admitting students into National Diploma (ND), National Certificate of Education (NCE), and university degree programs.

He emphasized that JAMB does not handle matters related to Higher National Diploma (HND) admissions or the challenges faced by HND graduates regarding their mobilization for NYSC.

Despite this clarification, the students’ representatives urged the JAMB Registrar to intervene, as the issue affects thousands of polytechnic graduates who may miss the opportunity to participate in the mandatory one-year national service if no resolution is reached.
