On August 5, Corps Commander Muftau Adebayo Irekeola officially assumed the role of Sector Commander for the Kwara State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The new commander was received by senior officers of the Command during an official parade held in his honour.
In his address, Irekeola stated the importance of renewed dedication to the FRSC’s strategic objectives, particularly in reducing road traffic fatalities and injuries in Kwara State.
He called on all personnel to maintain a high level of commitment and work diligently to combat corruption within the ranks.
Irekeola underscored that integrity and fairness are crucial in fulfilling the Corps’ mission.
Following the parade, Irekeola convened a strategy meeting with the Heads of Departments and Units.
During this session, he reiterated the need for a collective effort to uphold the Corps’ values and objectives.
He encouraged all officers to perform their duties with honesty and impartiality, ensuring that their actions align with the FRSC’s commitment to public safety.
In addition to addressing his colleagues, Irekeola also spoke to the general public, urging motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to minimize accidents.
He highlighted the importance of public cooperation in enhancing road safety and invited suggestions from the community to improve safety measures in the state.
Irekeola brings a wealth of experience to his new role, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and a Master’s in Transport Studies.
Before his appointment in Kwara, he served as the Sector Commander for Delta State, where he demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to road safety.
The new Sector Commander expressed his commitment to fostering collaboration between the Kwara Sector Command and other stakeholders.
He aims to strengthen partnerships with relevant agencies and the public to effectively achieve the Corps’ goals.
Irekeola’s leadership marks a new chapter for the Kwara FRSC, with a focus on integrity, transparency, and a collective approach to enhancing road safety in the state.
