Inferno averted by Kwara Fire Service in Alapa

Men of the Kwara State Fire Service on Monday, 6th December, 2021, rescued a petrol tanker from burning totally at MM Filling Station along Kaiama Road Alapa, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to a statement by the Head of Media and Publicity of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, about 6: 19pm, men of the state Fire Service were summoned to the fire incident by Engr. Rasaq.

He said, “the incident occurred at M.M Filling Station along Kaiama Road, Alapa, Kwara State.

“On the Brigade arrival at the scene, the blazing fire had engulfed the whole tanker due to the terrible nature of the incident.

However, firemen were able to put out the fire on time and also prevent the burning tanker from affecting the filling stations in the area.”

Adekunle added that no live was lost to the fire incident whic was reportedly caused due to mechanical problem in the petrol tanker.

Meanwhile, the Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa urged the general public to be more careful even as he advised the filling stations to procure all the necessary safety equipment at their various stations.
