Ijaw National Congress Celebrates Edwin Clark at 97

The Ijaw National Congress (INC) worldwide has extended heartfelt congratulations to its Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, on the occasion of his 97th birthday.

In a statement signed by the National President, Professor Benjamin Ogele Okaba, and National Publicity Secretary, Engr Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, the INC praised Chief Clark as a “great icon of inestimable value.”

The statement reads: “The Ijaw National Congress Worldwide (INC-W), the apex sociocultural organization of the Ijaw nation, wishes to felicitate with our leader and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, as he celebrates his 97th birth anniversary today.

“We continue to cherish your extraordinary wisdom, forthrightness, doggedness, and courage to stand firm and speak the undiluted truth to power. We honour, laud, and celebrate you, sir, as one of the few irrepressible voices of the Ijaw Nation, the Niger Delta, the South-South, and Nigeria as a whole. You are indeed the hope of the hopeless and the oppressed minorities across the nation.

“The Ijaw National Congress wishes you the very best and fervently prays to Almighty God to continue to keep you sound, strong, and active in all aspects, for the Ijaw people and all oppressed.”
