Ibadan Youth Protest: Tinubu must address hunger and insecurity

Hundreds of demonstrators have called on President Bola Tinubu to solve the problems of hunger and insecurity in the nation on Monday during a nonviolent protest in the capital city of Ibadan, Oyo State.

The protesters, majority of whom are young people, expressed that they are tired of Nigeria’s current predicament and that they are expecting the government to take serious action.

They carried banners that said things such as, “Hunger is Killing Us,” and “Tinubu Must Address Insecurity.”

The high cost of living, according to the protesters, is another problem that makes it difficult for people to afford necessities.

The protest is taking place at a time when Nigeria is dealing with a number of security issues, such as terrorist attacks, banditry, and kidnappings.

They added that food costs had also increased drastically, making it harder for many Nigerians to cater for their families.

The protesters seek to bring these critical problems to Tinubu and demand the government’s attention through their demonstration.

Additionally, they are urging the government to engage in more drastic measures to lessen public suffering and boost the nation’s economy.

Although security personnel have been deployed at key areas, there are concerns that the protest, which has been nonviolent thus far, could degenerate into violence if the government does not heed the demands.
