The Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, has urged church members in Nigeria to be vigilant and prioritise their safety as the planned hunger protest on August 1, 2024, draws near.

His Eminence highlighted that the protest date coincides with the Celestial Church’s new month vigil.

He advised members across the country to be highly sensitive to the security situation in their areas before deciding to attend the vigil on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Noting that if the circumstances seem unsafe, members should stay indoors.

He also instructed Shepherds to assess the security conditions in their various parishes’ areas carefully before determining whether to hold the new month vigil.

“If the situation is volatile, you are advised to cancel the vigil for August. However, if conditions permit, the vigil may proceed”.

Reverend Oshoffa strongly cautioned C.C.C. youths against participating in any violent protests.

He emphasised that protests should be conducted lawfully and without violence or the destruction of public property.
