The lifeless body of 21-year-old Mojisola Awesu, a student at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, was discovered in a refuse dump.
The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the tragic incident, which unfolded in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.
Investigation revealled that Awesu had been hired by a friend to pose as a girlfriend for a private university student at a party, for a sum of N15,000.
According to the police spokesperson, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, Awesu’s body was found by labourers on August 12 in the Aleniboro area of Ilorin.
Her roommate reported her missing on August 13, explaining that Awesu had gone to attend a party organised by students from two private universities in the state.
The police have arrested several suspects in connection with the case, which has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
